What is the Tours of the Realm Experience?

Tours of the Realm offers chauffeured sightseeing and historic tours of rural and historic Britain to small groups and private parties of up to three people. If you are not a fan of large group tours with rigid tour itineraries, which only offer the obvious tourist attractions, then why don’t you give us a try and hire your very own private tour guide?

We have extensive knowledge and experience of historic Britain, and we offer our clients a relaxed and informal way to discover the wealth of rural, cultural and historical gems that are to be found throughout Great Britain.

Although we are not limited to it, we do specialize in the South-East corner of England, and if you are visiting Kent, the Garden of England, we can’t wait to show off this beautiful, quintessentially English part of the country to you with its glorious gardens, ancient castles, grand stately homes, and striking white cliffs.

We are of course delighted to offer tours to other lovely areas of the UK too, so please feel free to enquire.

We are here to give our clients a truly memorable travel experience.

The Tours of the Realm experience is friendly, secure and an ideal choice for visitors wishing to relax and enjoy the sights at a leisurely pace, with an excellent level of customer care.

For example, a full-day tour (approx. 7hrs) includes a relaxed drive through the lovely Kent countryside with plenty of photo opportunities. Passing through old towns and picturesque villages you will see historic houses, country churches and gorgeous gardens along the route. A stop for lunch in an old country pub or a cup of tea and a slice of cake in a quintessentially English tearoom will only add to this very enjoyable and individual experience.

A full-day tour also allows the time to visit attractions and places of interest of your choice. For cost guidelines please visit our Costs page.

Our promise to you

By coming on one of our private tours, we can promise you that you will have a lot of fun and you will see Great Britain from a different angle. You will discover new things, and you will truly get to know the people, the culture and the history that has shaped this incredible country. You’ll even learn some intriguing insider information, which cannot be found in off-the-shelf tour guides.

Our bespoke tours are intentionally limited to small numbers, for this ensures a relaxed and informative atmosphere, and it also allows us to proceed at your pace, leaving ample time to stop, ask questions and to discover.

A number of our return clients choose to visit a place because of a long-standing family connection to an area, and wherever possible we make every effort to explore this further and to give our clients an experience of a lifetime.

We like to think that we go the extra mile for our clients to delve deep into the heart of England’s extraordinarily ancient and diverse past and to allow them to discover their own deep-seated link to a particular place and their instant connection to this land.

Kent - The Garden of England

When it comes to places of interest in Kent, this tucked-away corner of England does not disappoint. Whether you are looking for a history tour or trying to capture the real flavour of British culture off the beaten track, Kent has it in abundance.

Steeped in thousands of years’ worth of history, the stories of kings, queens, and princes who have changed the course of British history is palpable in the air as you walk through the many ancient castles and stately homes found here.

Kent’s green rolling hills and fertile soil with its abundant orchards and beautiful flora have rightfully earned the county’s description, the Garden of England.

This spectacular county is a true feast for all the senses. Kent boasts spectacular coastline views, and of course, the famous crown jewels of the South Coast, the prominent White Cliffs of Dover can also be found here.

Private tours further afield

Our bespoke tours are not limited to Kent. We are English history and culture lovers and we truly delight in bringing the pages of history books to life for our customers.

We have extensive knowledge and experience of leading private tours to several English medieval towns, English Heritage locations and historic sites across England. Do get in touch with us and we would be thrilled to speak with you about your plans.

We have a particularly special place in our heart for Cornwall, this truly captivating and mysterious corner of Great Britain. If you choose to come on a tour to Cornwall with us, you are in for a real treat. You will step into enchanted gardens, visit delightful vineyards, walk the cobbled streets of charming little fishing villages, breathe in the clean Cornish ocean air on spectacular beaches, and of course visit the famous TV locations from Poldark and Doc Martin.
